Knit Two by Kate Jacobs

Should I begin with a disclaimer? The views expressed here are just my own.I am a reader not a professional book reviewer. What I am trying to say is..I don't have a clue what I am doing ..lol.So with that said...
I had read "The Friday Night Knitting club" last year and I enjoyed it .I was excited when I was out shopping with my daughters at Christmas and saw Knit Two,the sequel.I found this to be an easy read.I thought it was a little slow getting started but then I really enjoyed all the characters again.Catherine was my favorite in this book, she seemed to stand out to me and I connected with her .If you enjoyed the "Friday Night Knitting Club" then I think you will enjoy this book,in fact,I enjoyed it more.I read this book on my Kindle, which I received for christmas, and I have to say I am really enjoying it.One thing I love is the ability to mark things I like.I always had trouble doing that in a paper book because i just couldn't bear to mark it up.With the kindle none of that guilt exisited. So here are a few things I marked...
" I am my own artist" she said aloud. And with her focus on being perfect, perfect, perfect, she was always trying to obscure Catherine the woman.Over and over: she did the same thing. And,unlike these great faces ,in doing so she gave away all her power and esteem.
'People Change.Life is just a process to figure out who we are"
"All things end up being about relationships," said Anita."We are driven by the need for power,or attention,or comfort.
So far I am loving my Kindle.I love the built in dictionary . I can look up as I read instead of making a mental note to check it out later ,which i never do.As I said,I also love the ability to make notes and mark highlights. The ocd in me just wouldn't let me mark up my books before.I love the convenience of being able to get a book instantly in the comfort of home.I love that it always bookmarks my spot so the pages don't accidentally turn if I go to get a snack ,and no dog ears.
What I am not loving.. As i had read before ,and I agree, I hate the button placement on the side to turn the page,it is to easy to hit accidentally.I also hate that if I really love a book I cant pass it on to my daughters or a friend, because I am certainly not going to lend out my kindle but that was also part of the appeal because alot of us who buy, buy, buy run out of places to store all our books. So ,so far the good wins and I am Loving it!!!

So it begins...
Look what I got from Santa on Christmas! The definition for Kindle 1. to set on fire 2.inspire,stir up .So it did both for me! I was inspired to get reading in the New Year and to blog about the books I am reading or plan to read this year.
If you don't know what in the world a kindle is you can find it here
I downloaded two books to it right away.Right now ,I just began Knit Two,the sequel to the Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. I will blog about that later. I haven't had enough time yet to play with my Kindle either but as I go along I will share what I like and don't like.I can say though that as I was reading the first few chapters of Knit two I got lost in the book and not the device ,so I think that's a good thing.
I have always loved books,I always felt comforted by their presence .I am one of these people who has trouble commiting to things.I bounce around from obsession to obsession ,always have, but books have always been a constant in my life.I surround myself with them.I find Serenity there, hence the name of the blog. I plan to blog about what I am reading,I plan to join in on some reading challenges and hopefully find some great blogs to follow that also share a passion for reading. Hopefully as I go along the blog will take on a life of its own.Any suggestions or ideas you have ,I would love to hear them! Happy Reading!
